The Diploma in Islamic Studies is a unique programme taught by various teachers which seeks to introduce and expose students to the fundamental values and concepts of Islam, in order to provide learners with a sound grounding in the primary and secondary sources of Shari`ah. The course aims to also cover modern topics which are relevant to Muslims in a secular context. The lessons will be taught in English, utilising presentations, translated classical and modern Islamic books relevant to Muslims in Western society. The programme will take place over a period of 35 weeks, with study on a part-time basis; and will be delivered via a series of lectures, discussion groups and independent reading. The skills and knowledge developed will be transferable into the work place and the wider community. Course will meet every Sunday and will commence on November 27th 2011 the final lesson being in August 2012
